From the page: "Heroin overdoses kill many people; there is a cheap rescue option, though, kits called Narcan that cost a mere $9.50 and allow people to save lives. The Bush administration opposes their distribution."

I tend to think of heroin overdose as evolution in action.

This is an unbelievable statement from one of our top medical advisors. Heroin overdoses kill many people; there is a cheap rescue option, though, kits called Narcan that cost a mere $9.50 and allow people to save lives. The Bush administration opposes their distribution. ... Well, they don't believe in saving people from heroin ODs; and I don't believe in saving evil drunken cokeheads who choke on pretzels.

The points about the Narcon being dangerous in the hands of non-professionals might be valid. However, not using it because it encourages drug use is stupid (and according to her the larger problem). Also, the program would probably save money because these (possibly uninsured) people would have to go the hospital instead of getting a $9.50 treatment (this is assuming that after using the treatment they wouldn't go to the hospital).
