Being a physicist and an aspiring humanitarian (to say I am any more than that would be pretentious, it seems), I can't help but love reading Einstein's quotes :) Thanks to ColinsFreakinDad for showing this! From the page: "# "He who joyfully marches to music rank and file,... more

From the page: " Note: This list of Einstein quotes was being forwarded around the Internet in e-mail, so I decided to put it on my web page. I'm afraid I can't vouch for its authenticity, tell you where it came from, who compiled the list, who Kevin Harris is, or anything like that. Still, the quotes are interesting and enlightening." I'm sure there are some correct quotations in here, but anything circulating around the Internet via email is highly suspect. There are too many opportunities for people to put words in a great man's mouth. Further, poor research or faulty recollection can lead to misattribution. For example: "The only thing that interferes with my learning is my education" isn't Einstein. It could possibly be a mutation of Mark Twain's "I never let my schooling get in the way of my education." Food for thought.

Oh my, I could read those quotes over and over.. But you know, it's not just the quotes that makes this man so ridiculously interesting, it's all the other things he was about. I think his mind was ablazing every minute of every day. If you've never read his autobiography....he wasn't just all about science...let's see..he was offered the Presidency of Israel (that's pretty wild)...his royalties were bequethed to the Hebrew University of Jerusalem...he was one of only 3 out of something like 95 who signed an antiwar counter-manifesto vs the other guys who defended Germany...seems he did not confine himself soley to the science field.

I can live without the science-y ones but the rest are pretty profound. I could read quotations all day.

From the page: "The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It is the source of all true art and all science. He to whom this emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead: his eyes are closed."
