- Keep the pennies, abolish the FED Those pennies will snap back to their 1913 value when we go back to a gold standard. Do yourself a favor and google Money as Debt. Watch that video. If you liked that, read The Creature from Jekyll Island by G. Edward Griffin. Or you could just keep the Fed and buy gold or silver instead. Then just pay for things in grams of gold or silver. Your wealth will just have become inflation-proof and the prices of everything you buy from then on will be low and constant. Who wouldn't want that instead? :-)
