If we included acts of terrorism that the US/Israel/NATO inflicts on the world, the chart would be near flat over a period of dozens of years.

Actually it is the term 'terrorism' that has bubbled. There was similar amounts of 'terrorism' before he was elected, but as the media hadn't focused as much on it, then it hasn't been seen as much.
