"It's the FDA Classification Stupid!
Your Senators and Representatives have bound their own hands by declaring that they (your reps) can not legalize a Class C substance. The FDA maintains that classification by lying their asses off (Class C means it has no possible beneficial use).
Not Coleman, not any other Senator can "legalize" pot. Impossible. Stop asking them to do THAT. What they should do is hold hearings on the policalization of (what should be) SCIENCE at FDA!!! Or they can change the law so they CAN be held to account.
ianrey rated 16 months ago- All: "Norm!" Sam: "What's new, Normie?" Norm: "Terrorists. They've taken over my lungs, they're demanding pot." Cue Music: Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows you're a Republican Hypocrite.

It is common for people to rail against that which they are unable to accept or forgive in themselves. How often does the person who condemns a behavior turn out to have either been involved in that behavior (or sometimes even more obsessively terrified that they MIGHT)? Who among us has NEVER done ANYTHING they wish they had not?
Judging others and ourselves - making certain things litmus tests of "good" and "bad" - is unhealthy for ourselves and our world. It is black and white thinking and most times irrational if you just look at it clearly.
Do you truly believe every person who ever did something that is officially "illegal" (and, by the way, many things that are now illegal were not illegal last year, or ten years ago, or fifty years ago) or currently socially unacceptable (cigarette smoking, for example) is evil and unredeemable?
While I am NOT recommending or condoning smoking any substance I AM condoning tolerance and rationality and especially that we not condemn others and ourselves.
This is at the root of many of our issues. The fear of judgment and damage to reputation teaches people - even tiny children - to be liars and hypocrites. Our desire to condemn people for common behaviors and minor mistakes is not reasonable.
This is a key privacy issue. When there are cameras everywhere there will be records of more people's "mistakes". What will we do will all those we condemn? The prisons are already overflowing. To paraphrase a famous quote, "Let those who are without sin cast the first stone".
