Gardener Threatens Public Safety with Compost
-
Rated by werelax on Aug 24 2008, 10:29pm
Gardening is a hobby that can quickly become a passion for many people. I am one of those people. You can call me green, crunchy or a compost wacko if you want; my garden appreciates my efforts and I like to think the earth does too.

Only in America, they say: a visually-impaired couple are prosecuted for their garden composting practices. I've heard of other cases where people are forced to machine-dry their clothes because washing lines are banned in their communities. When environmental disaster is staring us in the face, it's hard to believe there are still laws like these.

a sad story with a happy ending. Seriously though, leave blind people alone, they are just happily gardening, people with nothing better to do but harass others really pisses me off.

Many are so removed from natural processes, that the pleasant smell of compost is considered "unnatural and hazardous"! Furthermore targeting a blind couple is cowardly. It's great that they won!

There are many methods to combine garden and kitchen waste in order to allow it to decompose into nutritious compost to feed the soil, which in turn will naturally feed the plants.

Political harrassment goes over the top in New Jersey - over compost!
