Dear Stumblers, this article on Stumbling is posted in seven parts, reading down the page. A tidier version can now be read on my blog at http://judefa-accordingtojude.blogspot.com/. Mosaicart would not be the only Stumbler who has found emotional support in a virtual community. "Community" and a sense of friendship were the key factors Stumblers mentioned in responding to questions Setabnevets and I posted recently. Setabnevets had been curious to know how people use Stumbleupon, and posed a set of fairly open questions. They were not slanted in such a way as to invite remarks on friendship, but this was what they wanted to talk about. Mosaicart wrote that when her father was dying "people who I really did not know seemed to come out of nowhere with a cosmic presence". That reaching out is mentioned by several Stumblers. Pansophy: "It makes you realise that you are not alone on some of the dim dark days." Leelee129: "You can pose a question or ask for advice or simply be wondering aloud about something and people here will take the time to stop and think about it and contribute. Even if it's just sending a little jpeg or link or something that could be relevant, they've made the effort to do that. It's that sense of community. I've only ever met nice people here. And not just nice, but intelligent, witty and charming people too. Just when I was really starting to believe that the human race is on an evolutionary downward spiral, I discovered SU and my faith in people is being restored."

Everytime time you stumble upon Stumbleupon, God implodes a universe. Think of the universes!
