mbstrlbstr discovered 10 months ago- While many people today will enjoy a much needed day off. Its only natural to reflect on this "great" man Christopher Columbus, and all the good he did for society. Let's make a list. Wait a second, Columbus didn't do anything did he?

- Well, that's all well and good, but you know what our founding fathers did when they weren't founding? Whooping slaves, selling cotton, raping maids, and getting drunk. So why don't we just abolish history class and deny western civilization's existence?

LYRiCALxLiESzx0 rated 9 months ago- Lmaoooo. Vespucci discovered America? YEA, right...

patoloco rated 10 months ago- Give it a fucking rest you politically correct lemmings.

icybluemargarita rated 10 months ago- The dark side of Columbus Day....

SpaceMonkeyZero rated 10 months ago- By successfully completing his mission, more explorers (and conquistadors) were sent. I am really sick of historical revisionists that feel like we should just re-write huge amounts of history just to fit the current political correctness. People were conquered. TOO F-ING BAD. Stuff happens. That's HISTORY.

MrsA rated 10 months ago- No, Amerigo Vespucci did NOT discover America.

wisdom-of-trees rated 10 months ago- The idea that America was 'discovered' is typically a western-centric way of thinking, especially considering that people were living here long before any of the European explorers came out to the west. Also, there are archaeological ruins found in upstate New York that belong to Vikings...a set of European explorers that set foot in this country long before the conquistadors did. A lot of Italian Americans look at Columbus Day as a way to celebrate their heritage in a country that for a long time discriminated against them in the early 20th; but there are far, far better heroes to look up to and venerate than Columbus; Italian history is rife with inventors, explorers, artists and scholars who are far more worthy. Oh, and did you know there is the possibility that Columbus wasn't even Italian? Why do we celebrate this man?

finestkind rated 10 months ago- Sure, the sales are great and all, but damn! What a price to pay.
