I could not agree with this more!!! I love this blogger for pointing out the double standards that we as men have to deal with, but are expected to and to not say a damn thing or even do a damn thing about it! America. The land of the free? Nah, should be called the land of the double standards.... more

This is great. Being male does carry a negative connotation in society, which I believe is a climate fueled by radical feminism. "All men are pigs...Men are the cause of all the problems in the world...Men are rapists...All men are good for nothing animals who treat women like pieces of meat." Boys conclude that women do not like men, so they strive to hide their masculinity. After all, men are pigs right? And women don't like that right? So don't be a man, and you won't be a pig and women will like that right? Even I have found myself victim to this twisted rationale. Embrace your masculinity!! every man should have this wired in their head: There is absolutely nothing wrong with being male! just like there's nothing wrong with being female.

Irony: The only reason this is getting serious play is because a woman wrote it, if a man had written it it would not have been hosted unless the author was paying for the bandwidth. I've said ALL of these things before, and then some, and you know what i get? Hate mail from silly little psychos like solitary snake there.

From the page: "We do NOT have to stand on the backs of men to get ahead. We can go forward together. " Excellent article. This is exactly how my mom raised me. She once told me, "Never send a man to do a job you wouldn't do yourself."

Oh give me a break. It's true that men lose out in a (very) few arenas, and hey, that's not a good thing, but it's always because of the underlying patriarchal system. You want to know why women almost always get custody of children in a divorce? Because women are almost always the ones who gave up their careers to raise those children. Because women are seen as domestic caretakers, while men are seen as bread-earning providers. Because of the patriarchy. You want to get rid of discrimination in divorce courts? Get rid of patriarchy. Every man is NOT "characterized as Homer Simpson". In fact, I recommend starting a tally when you watch TV or movies. Overall, there are more male characters than female characters, the male characters are more important, and the women fall into one of three stereotypes while the men get, like, ten stereotypes to choose from. (Most media is too hackneyed to break out of stereotypes.)Oh, and "every single one of us has seen a woman who could easily beat her husband's ass being smacked around by a wiry little Napoleon-like man"? Every single one of us? I think that's a biiiiiit of an overstatement.

over-the-top whiny 'feminists' (like hazelfo) get really angry if men want equality in certain areas to be re-evaluated. women are disenfranchised, so nobody else gets to ask for rights, ever. women are the oppressed ones. how dare you even bring it up.

From the page: "I guess it just goes without saying that boys can do anything, including staying silent while girls are brought up in a culture that has swung from female empowerment to male bashing. "

From the page: "I was clothes shopping with my almost-12-year-old daughter the other day. We saw t-shirts that said, Girl Power and ...my personal favorite "Boys Are Great, Every Girl Should Own One!" A feminist defends men and her son. A good conversation starter.
