From the page: "Even so, I was not prepared for a staff meeting with participants calmly discussing flushing a baby down the toilet as if it were some sort of reasonable response to an unwanted pregnancy. They asked for my input, and they got much more "input" than they had... more

...this is just a boring story with a quirky hook. Nothing to learn here.

Wow. What a messed up world we enhabit. What possible reason could there be to flush a baby down the toilet? Who knows, but I could think of a few that might seem justifiable to the underage parent. What reason could there be for the supposed "experts" to send the baby home? Can't come up with a one.

When you are constantly surrounded by screwed up people, you excuse their behavior and judge it to be normal.

Pretty bizarre. And I'm not at all surprised by the social workers reactions because social workers are some of the most fucked up people out there.

My Auntie Z sent me this story and it made me think.....as a hospital floor registered nurse I have encountered less severe situations than the ER but just as insane.....I remember when a ten year old was paralyzed for life after being hit by a car. A pediatrician commented to me, "That's life, for every one kid like him there are 1,000 more; he is ten, he should have known better than to play in the street." Or another time, a woman high on crack cocaine crashed her vehicle and was also paralyzed......a fellow nurse said, "she got what she deserved." HUH? No one deserves to be paralyzed for life no matter what they do, and where has basic human empathy and sympathy gone?

Stupid teenagers don't know anything. You've got to dismember the body before attempting the flush it down the toilet. It's a premature baby, it wouldn't be THAT tough to chop up.
