mysticalspork rated 5 months ago- I was hoping this would be the story of a teenage feminist who eventually came to her senses and began to see things in perspective, hence the word "was".
Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be the story of a woman who, when presented with a biology class that did not cover female anatomy, was not concerned merely because she felt cheated out of a complete education, but because she was being discriminated against by a patriarchal society.
And the wall of apathy strengthened.- I was hoping this would be the story of a teenage feminist who eventually came to her senses and began to see things in perspective, hence the word "was".

Rhia rated 9 months ago- What you do and what you say can make a difference, no matter where. Women are just as important as men, and it's necessary to include information from both sides of the spectrum.

declanoctavio rated 9 months ago- Co-operative

marymar rated 9 months ago- Sad to think there are people who don't care, or think it's uncool to be concerned about these issues, but good to know there are others, likeobjectifythis.com/2007/08/i-was-a-teenage-fem... who do, and do something about them.

sleepforpeace rated 9 months ago- I am a teenage feminist.

digits rated 10 months ago- Awesome post. Beautiful and attentive. I am tired of having to call myself a feminist - as if it's some deviance of the norm.
It's not.
It's my belief everyone is born with equality and the sense that grows into equal compassion for all beings and people irrespective of race, gender, social status.
The problem starts with the subtle or overt context clues that children are sensing as young as 2 yrs old... The young girl sees mommy working 9 hour a day job to come home and work for four more hours cooking dinner, cleaning up. They see Daddy in front of the TV getting waited on so they watch TV with Daddy. The little girl, in wanting to identify with her maternal figure goes to help in the kitchen - eager to seek approval. When this young one is 15 she has been indoctrinated.
The young boy on the other hand will see the same sex parent and know the reaction he is to expect from the woman role model.
I retract my statement. I suppose therefore to be a feminist *is* aberrant.- Awesome post. Beautiful and attentive. I am tired of having to call myself a feminist - as if it's some deviance of the norm.
