What's the point of the 'www' in your URL? You don't put it in your email address (you [at] www [dot] hotmail [dot] com), so why put it in the web address? Answer: you shouldn't. Join the movement and leave the 'www' off - for simplicity's sake.

From the page:"No-www.org strives to make the Internet and communications about it as fruitful as possible. To that end, we make the modest proposal that website makers configure their main sites to be accessible by domain.com as well as www.domain.com. Our ideal scene is one where non-specialized sites accept traffic on the www host name, but silently redirect it to the bare domain name. This is what no-www calls Class C. However, any site that takes in traffic one way or the other on both the www host and the bare domain are acceptable here."I am Class-B now -> korayem.net

Cleaning up the internet!A big task! So start small...The idea is if all sites followed one of the simple rules/methods laid out here, then time money and the earth could be saved. I doesn't say that the world should be www less, as in cases of large comglomorates with many subdomains, the www points out that this is where you should be as a starting point! Its a great idea, and I've practiced it for many years just as I thought it made sense!

I've always removed the www when linking to any of my domains, subdomains and past sites. It looks much cleaner to me. I'm happy to see others share my opinion.

Such a nice idea. The whole www thing - the 'woow', as I like to pronounce it - is clearly idiocy. Ten syllables of pointless stupidness added to almost every web address, the way most people say it. Unfortunately, block monospacing of web sites is also idiotic, as is using fake HTML tags and web addresses for all your links, totally ignoring the existence of IIS, and hiding your advice for web masters under headings like 'Make your site Class B'. wwwtf? Oh well. In the mean while, can someone please tell me how to set up IIS so that it doesn't demand that damn www.? It's a terribly difficult thing to look up, because searching Google for 'www' turns up just about every site on the internet.
