I fell in love with Nina Simone when I first heard her sing Jacques Brel's Ne Me Quitte Pas. It was at once both fragile and heartbreaking, and was sung so beautifully, it couldn't have been sung any other way, in my opinion.
My young heart was hooked, and held, quite achingly, by Nina Simone's voice.

- The fist Nina Simone song I ever heard was "Ain't Got No-I Got Life" I think that song changed my life; I love it so much. I just love Nina Simone!
