I do it because I love my family, not because of my job's "worth". I find articles like this annoying.

From the page: "NEW YORK (Reuters) - If the typical stay-at-home mother in the United States were paid for her work as a housekeeper, cook and psychologist among other roles, she would earn $138,095 a year, according to research released on Wednesday." No kidding.

And the purpose of this article was...???! I know some housewives feel taken-for-granted as it is. So that is how much someone would probably get paid...soooooo? I work out of the home 2 days a week for 1 hour each time, so you could say I am a SAHM, and I am not complaining. I just don't see the logic of writing this article.

Are you married? Do you have kids? You could be making $138,095 a year from home. Not.Read this article and ask yourself, Could Salary.com come up with a better marketing gimmick? If someone had the qualifications and experience to be competitively hired for these jobs, then performed them under review, with their job hinging on the satisfaction of the persons paying for their services, maybe this would make sense? Otherwise, this is just sensationalism pandering to female fantasies. Or worse, a lame justification for the raiding of joint bank accounts. Don't kid yourself, CEO's work over 60 hours a week, without overtime. It's not enough to just do the work and be qualified, you have to please everyone ALL the time. No board of directors is married to a CEO. Likewise, CEO's don't see their children as much. If I said you could only see your kids for 5 hours a week, how much would you pay out of this over-inflated amount to see them more?I think salary.com is driving traffic to their site with a massive white lie. Of course, since this is so absurd, I'm giving it a big thumbs up for the marketing angle.
