AvangionQ rated 6 months ago- From the page: "Thousands more troops each year struggle with mental health problems because of the combat they've seen. The lengthening of duty tours to 15 months from 12 a year ago also has been blamed for problems as has the fact that soldiers are being sent back for two, three or more times." ... our current situation in Iraq is unsustainable -- we are pushing our military men and women beyond their breaking points by extending their tours of duty and recalling them back to the front lines three or more times ... that the War in Iraq is so unpopular has led to all time lows for new recruits ... this combination of factors will have one of three inescapable outcomes: either a general draft will be ordered, leading to the political suicide pacts of all those politicians signing onto such a bill, as I can all but guarantee millions of protesters will swarm on our capitol *or* the politicians will expand on our use of mercenaries, ahem I mean civilian contractors, and continue to funnel taxpayer money into the hands of the hidden Oligarchy inevitably bringing forth the ruination of our economy *or* they'll come to their collective senses, call a stalemate, end the war and bring our troops home ... I'm hopeful for the latter ...
