A story about the persecution of an Indian writer by Muslim groups in India, all for simply expressing a different opinion in a non-offensive way. It would seem that in the Muslim world, there isn't much respect for the views of non-Muslims. While there are zealots in all religions, Islam seems to have more than its fair share; this is not ignorance or bigotry, it is a statistical fact. It's also why the Muslim world is known for having "bloody borders" in places where it comes into contact with the rest of the world. Muslims need to understand, along with every other group, that they don't have the right to not be offended. The world contains a myriad of different kinds of people with virtually endless differences in the way they see things. If Muslims want the right to express their point of view, they will have to give others that same right. One thing that gives me hope is the fact that the Internet, along with new kinds of technology, make it increasingly difficult for zealots to silence the opinions of others. (thanks elledark)
