From the page: "In 1990, Municipal Court Judge Jack Rosen set a $1 million bond on a case where Weaver was accused of stealing $21.64. Bernat refused today to lower it. That means Weaver is in the jail â€" that officials say is overcrowded and in need of replacement â€" on a bond that is $999,978.36 higher than the amount he is accused of stealing 18 years ago." ** LR ~ If this is a credible story, it's absolutely insane. He's arrested and sentenced for cutting himself. I would have thought that might have brought mandatory commitment for observation and mental health services. Now, in addition to the night he spent in jail for self-harm, an 18 year old theft has caught up with him. By all means, he should be accountable for his actions, but come on! A million dollar bond for a petty theft? Nice set of priorities.

"Charged with cutting himself"??? It's his fucking body let him do what he wants with it. It may be stupid, and it may be something that should be prevented, but how can you charge someone for damaging something that is theirs? Crazy country.
