Author treats Minefield like it's a completely seperate product, it's just an unbranded version, so that bugs from development builds don't change people's perception of what "Firefox" is like. It's also been around for forever. The real content of the article is basically that they've added the new JS engine to mozilla development builds, and it's awesome. The author could have just written an article about that.
