We who work on the Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) know how vulnerable our society is to both sabotage and solar activities knocking down the systems such as GPS (USA), GLONASS (Russia) and Galileo (future Europe). That is why we have been very surprised that alternative systems like the military Loran C were terminated by some countries. It looks like things are being reconsidered...:-)
