To those who fear the legislation might criminalise people who use violent pornography as a harmless sex aid, she responds with a blunt "hard luck".
There is no reason for this stuff. I can't see why people need to see it. People say what about our human rights but where are Jane's human rights?""
It seems like Mrs. Longhurst has a case of good old Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc fallacy...bad logic, bad legislation, bad idea. I can't understand 'violent pornography' either, but I would not ban it because of that. Also, as Lord Wallace of Tankerness points out in the article, how on earth could it be illegal to own a picture of something which isn't?

SheerZed rated 5 months ago- Yet another insensitive and selfish governmental crackdown. Another erosion on our rights to personal and indeed PRIVATE cultures. Another milestone of intolerance towards the diversity of human sexuality. Universal sovereignty for all sentient beings now!

- Extreme pornography doesn't "cause" violent behavior, people that are already disturbed seek this material out, removing the material will have no effect on the cause of the problem. In fact, there will probably be unintended consequences, such as disturbed people acting on their insane violent fantasies instead of just masturbating..

What is extreme pornography?
As defined by the UK's new Criminal Justice Bill:
* An act which threatens or appears to threaten a person's life
* An act which results in or appears to result in serious injury to a person's anus, breasts or genitals
* An act which involves or appears to involve sexual interference with a human corpse
* A person performing or appearing to perform an act of intercourse or oral sex with an animal
Must I give it all up??

...And?
I can't see why anyone would want to attend a Britney Spears concert, or listen to progressive jazz. It doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to. Narrow-minded asshat politician..
