Infomania' worse than marijuana Many workers are always on standby to react to incoming messages. Workers distracted by email and phone calls suffer a fall in IQ more than twice that found in marijuana smokers, research has claimed. People are becoming addicted to email and text messages with 62% of people checked work messages at home or on holiday. The firm said new technology can help productivity, but users must learn to switch computers and phones off. (yes i have said this before... many times so don't moan if i don's answer my cell!) The study also found that this excessive use of technology reduced workers' intelligence and a 10-point fall in their IQ - more than twice that found in studies of the impact of smoking marijuana. Ok.. what will i do today... play on the net or see how my garden grows *grins* hmmm the good Dr said "This, as you say, is a temporary distraction effect - not a permanent loss of IQ. The equivalences with smoking pot and losing sleep were made by others, against my counsel, and 8 Ss somehow became "80 clinical trials". http://itre.cis.upenn.edu/~myl/languagelog/archives/002493.html
