- I used to be very cynical about law, but having studied it and read cases from the courts of appeal and the house of lords, I have come to realise without the House of Lords, we really would be at the mercy of a bunch of criminals in suits (the so called house of commons) and that law in its' best incarnation is logic and balance. Quite a difficult leap for me at the time, but then again, what are we without change?
