This isn't a cure-all but you can use Tor (http://www.torproject.org/) to make it harder to track your information. Very convenient if you use Firefox as there's a button available for your browser to toggle on/off. It's free but I recommend donating to keep development going.

Is my I.S.P changing the terms unfairly ? Is there a lawyer reading this ? To the point I don't want anyone knowing what I read .....or look at when I'm on the toilet, or the bus, or online. Where has our privacy gone.? Answer. To the money..To Make more money for those with money..and where will it stop.? HERE ! Like Tim I'll cancel my subscription to my I.S.P ...not just to make a point but for freedom thats what the Internet and Tim's W.W.W has brought us all over the years Freedom

One of the modest and great unsung hero's of the Internet, Sir Tim Berners-Lee who created the world wide web has fears over the future of the internet. Here is a 30 min interview he did about the topic. (video is half way on the page)

Good response on Phorm by Sir Tim Berners Lee: From the page: "Sir Tim said his data and web history belonged to him. 'It's mine - you can't have it. If you want to use it for something, then you have to negotiate with me. I have to agree, I have to understand what I'm getting in return.'"

Even more reasons why you have to proxy yourself if this ever goes through.
