The principles of recycling are clearly nothing new: it seems that parchment was so difficult to produce that it would be re-used, luckily for us since modern investigative techniques can now reveal lost original ancient texts.

"We have one book that contains three texts from the ancient world that are absolutely central to our understanding of mathematics, politics and now philosophy,"

Very cool -- early commentary on Aristotle is the latest discovery in a medieval prayer book. Works by Archimedes and Hyperides were also found. The most important new words by Aristotle: "Do not sell SU to eBay."

Experts are "lost for words" to have found that a medieval prayer book has yielded yet another key ancient text buried within its parchment. Works by mathematician Archimedes and the politician Hyperides had already been found buried within the book, known as the Archimedes Palimpsest. But now advanced imaging technology has revealed a third text - a commentary on the philosopher Aristotle.
