Oh my goodness. One can only take so much common-sense in one week. Following the news that major mobile phone manufacturers are standardising their charger connectors (to micro-USB), now the news that the legalised piracy that we call roaming charges is being curtailed. It's about time someone took a long, hard stick to this. Sure, the companies need to make a profit, so that we have the communications infrastructure, but if we can't afford to use said infrastructure, then we're being prevented from exploiting the communications technologies that will allow us to succeed in this rapidly changing economic (and social) world. From the page: ""The roaming-rip off is now coming to an end," said EU Telecoms Commissioner Viviane Reding. "

From the page: "The cost of sending text messages from your mobile phone when you are overseas in the European Union has come down."
