mikegreaves1 rated 3 months agoreligion - really nice
flonkbob rated 4 months agoreligion - I love these! I'm definitely going to print them out on good card stock and start playing at home. Wheeee!
cx2i3 rated 4 months agoatheist, religion, humour - I wanted to like it. I really, REALLY, wanted to like it. But---it was just so anemic. The humour was flat---stale even. There was no pith, no bite, no spunk. It's what I image a politically correct writer would try and push out if he were pretending to be politically incorrect.
It could have been hilarious.
Sadly, it isn't.
But let me at lest correct the 'Muslim' card, since they lacked the fortitude.
Age: 1400 years (old enough to know better). (8/10)
Wealth: Varies. Primarily made up of adherents who cobble together temples out of abandoned port-o-potties.(3.5/10)
Follower Dedication: Fanatical. 'I'm off to kill some infidels and get my 72 virgins!' (9/10)
Daffiest Doctrine: Wudu or: How I found spiritual enlightenment through obsessive-compulsive washing. (8/10)
Weapon of Choice: Bipedal missiles targeted at cafes. (7.5/10)
Easily Offended: Ohohoho, I'd say so. The little buggers will kill over cartoons! (10/10)
(Part 2 is also covered by this review, since it was just as anemic. It can be found here: http://newhumanist.org.uk/2002 )

thinkerific rated 6 months ago- Sacrifices a bit too many facts to be funny and shows a clear bias as to which religions are respected the most or least.
pizzacica rated 6 months ago- I wanted to like it, but these fit too poorly and contain too many errors. "The Pope says jump, Catholics say how high": author deriving her knowledge on popists solely from 'The Da Vinci Code'? Not having ceremonial burial as 10/10 daffiest doctrine? The devagana as a singular deity? Branding Zoroastrianism as 1st monotheism while it wouldn't have been first even if it were a 'real' one? Confusing atheist 'doctrine' with that of, uh, I don't know, some sort of primitive anarchism perhaps? Passing by an opportunity for the vaunted sarcastic humour in favour of over-the-top preachiness on Muslim card? Shall I go on?
