What if the citizens of Tijuana, before 1947, had massacred our citizens multiple times claiming moral justification in doing so before we were granted our own territory? I mean, if we're dealing in "what ifs."

False analogy . . . oh, the shock. Arab states initiated war over their refusal to recognize a UN partition of Palestine. Imagine if they had accepted the plan. The land the Palestinian people would've inherited for their state would've been many times greater than the sliver they are battling for today.

That analogy collapses for a far simpler reason than the author's tortured reasoning: San Diego is not disputed territory. It is part of the United States of America, and Mexico makes no claim on it.Of course, that was not always so. The land that encompasses San Diego was once a part of Mexico, and it was taken from them in war. In fact, the entirety of the American southwest including California was once sovereign Mexican territory. For some reason, though, through the intervening hundred and seventy-three years, they've never shot rockets at us and we've never bombed them. Now why is that?

Not just immigrants, but even those who have lived in this country for many generations. Not just the unemployed or the criminals or the America haters, but the school teachers, the small business owners, the soldiers, even the baseball players."
