Simple Minds are getting ready to release their new album, Graffiti Soul. Look for it May 25th on Universal Music Records. The group has been very active in the last year, touring the U.K. and Europe with their 30th Anniversary Tour along with the Nelson Mandella 90th Birthday concert in Hyde Park, London. While on tour, they wrote the music and eventually went into Rockfield Studios, where they had recorded some of their best work. Producing the album is Jez Coad, along with the members of the group, with engineering by Bob Clearmountain. Lead singer Jim Kerr said in a statement, "Graffiti Soul is a bold and energetic collection of songs, and we could not be happier with the result. Stylistically, this is a truly vibrant rock'n'roll album that's bursting at the seams with quite possibly the most ballsy pop songs we have written in years.
