novell is a puppet state. Also apple would be much larger - an empire of apple. The concept is good though. Linux is brill, but I'm a windowsboi

    Heh. I like the concept.

My my how the tides of the war has changed in the past 2 years. The alliance of the Sun and Oracle front. The extension of service the already thinly spread Windows XP troops. The growth of the Google Empire with Chrome and some day maybe Chromium. I'm just glad no ones dying in this war. (Well maybe some software companies have hired goons. Possibly with neckbeards.)

if microsoft for some reason disappeared, apple would take it's place.

I'd like to see this updated. Internet explorer market share is down to 80% or so from 95% back in the day (the remaining 5% being old school navigator people, not cutting edge opera types like we have today). OSX has doubled its market share to 7% globally, and a little north of 10% in the US. WinMo is getting gang banged by Palm, RIM, Apple. Oh yeah, and the whole Open Office \ Google Apps vs. MS Office.
