karmafiend is right! Or at least he should be. This is DRM crap for sure. The sad this is, EA may not get the backlash they deserve. Anymore than Blizzard ultimately did with Warden or Microsoft did with Pinkster or whatever it's called. I see that many, no matter how much they hate it, (like with previous DRM and gaming 'controls' and DRM) ... will likely buy into it. It's sad too. If some folks felt as strongly about the freedoms they have or are losing, whether it is with their computers, the Internet, television, DVDs, music, or within their country's governments, they'd see this is ultimately related to loss of rights to something they own. And takes them one step closer to accepting controls in other areas of their lives. And all for curiosity or the thrill of the game. *sigh* "SecuROM SecuROM is the copy protection and security program included in Mass Effect PC. Mass Effect PC uses SecuROM which requires an online activation for the first time you play Mass Effect PC after installation. After the first activation, SecuROM requires that it re-check with the server within ten days in order to revalidate the CD key."
