First of all, I think most people going to Windows 7 soon will upgrade due to the upgrade version of it being way cheaper ATM, and second, who says the computer stores will put IE on it? Computers don't come with browsers, OS's do. Most computer stores put an OS on it and that's all. Maybe they'll be smart and realize that their customers will be pissy without a browser and put it on, but I bet a lot won't. It's fine. I'm in the US, and if I wasn't, I'd just put portable firefox on a flashdrive.

The flip side: perhaps this will force people to look past the ends of their noses and notice the wonderful alternative browsers available. IE has had its time. While I don't care for the article, I do think this was a wise move on Microsoft's part. Now, if we could get Microsoft to give people a list of browsers...guess I better keep dreaming! :)

More hype. Yes it's stupid, but most people get their OS with their computer, so it will already have a browser bundled.
