Tryptofan rated 8 months ago- I'm not sure that I would label this a long fist tutorial. There is some really good information about northern style wushu and the first video link is a very good example of what long fist should look like.
This picture, however, is an absolutely horrible example of long fist. The guy is not extending his upper body at all, in fact, he's leaning back. In long fist, a punch kick combination would require you to extend your upper body so that your fist and foot strike at the same distance... thus the name Long Fist.
Nope, I read more of the tutorial and I've changed my mind... this is very bad... go to a wushu school. Do not follow this. The most basic stance, the Horse Stance is shown completely wrong. In this picture, the student is supposed to be showing a proper horse stance however, his toes are pointed slightly outward when they should be pointed straight in front and his knees are bent slightly inward. A stance like this will severely damage your knees over time (commonly called wushu knee). He's even leaning forward slightly. In the horse stance your back should be straight and tall.
I'm far from a Wushu expert but I do understand the basics and my instructor would probably throw a shoe at me if my horse stance looked like that.
