In Texas, it is not the Governor who decides whether or not a person will be executed, but a jury. And if a person is found guilty then given the death penalty, his case immediately goes to the State Court of Appeals. It is a long and drawn out process before a person ends up on Death Row here and then several years beyond that before they are put to death. Lots of appeals. Lots of chances to see if there were any mistakes. As governor, George Bush did not execute people. In fact, he pardoned several. And in a few cases, he upheld the decision of the courts. That an execution takes place is not really his call. Read up on this and get your facts straight.
I could go on, but this Marc Perkel is just bent to see President Bush in a poor light.
