    The "Birds Eye View" and rotate features means it pisses all over Google Earth. Just not as smooth or fun to use. It's funny to rotate the view and end up seeing old satellite images showing a house being built or what was on the lot before it! :D In standard view, the images are as old as Google's - try the Bird's Eye View, my area is very recent (new buildings, new-style busses, etc).

    The "Bird's Eye View" feature of Windows Live Local, Microsoft's answer to Google Maps and Google Earth, provides highly detailed aerial views of selected urban areas from different viewpoints. Here is a sample of normal satellite imagery of the Golden Gate Bridge, and this is the kind of low angle detailed image that the Bird's Eye View feature can provide.

    I would venture to say that this kicks Google Maps' ass. Not because it has a better satellite photos, because they suck, but because of the bird's eye view. If they could only update their sat photos from the 80s...
