From the page: "24. â€oeHome Taping Is Killing Music” â€" A 1980s campaign by the BPI, claiming that people recording music off the radio onto cassette would destroy the music industry." My favorite one from the whole page. It hasn't been destroyed yet and I... more

Another crappy list site. In their pursuit of "just paying the bills..." foisting garbage upon gullible morons. I have a list, you are welcome to it, it's called a block list.

"Dear Mr. President: The canal system of this country is being threatened by a new form of transportation known as `railroads' ... As you may well know, Mr. President, `railroad' carriages are pulled at the enormous speed of 15 miles per hour by `engines' which, in addition to endangering life and limb of passengers, roar and snort their way through the countryside, setting fire to crops, scaring the livestock and frightening women and children. The Almighty certainly never intended that people should travel at such breakneck speed." THAT is pretty funny

From the page: "[Television] won't be able to hold on to any market it captures after the first six months. People will soon get tired of staring at a plywood box every night." I still don't understand why this didn't happen.

I agree with LeonhardSqual93. For example, number 17 is a gross misrepresentation. At the time, the writer of the memo would have been correct. The technology used in the phone at that time was of such low quality that it would have been of any real value.

not only are some of these flat out false, but some misrepresent what the person was talking about at all. Site blocked.

Careful what you say, because it could come back and bite you on your bum! I especially liked no 24. Interesting to think that we are now having the same arguement about file sharing.

It is interesting to see how scientists can be their own worst enemy.
