    lol@dead poets, linux has some beautiful GUIs and they are much easier to use for me than a clunky ugly windows interface.

    I would tend to say that the major issue I and anyone I know has with linux - as their main desktop environment (I use lunux systems in a server environment all the time as developer) is the lack of compatibility with industry standard software. Yes there are alternatives, but while the majority of applications software, and games do not run out of the box on linux, it will remain a platform for enthusiasts, and specialists.
