Wow, that was fascinating, goes to show you how easily and entire populous can be put under control by a fascist dictator.

Why are people so surprised by how easy it is to organize people into fanatics? Humans are inherently pack animals. We naturally want to be part of a group and fear being alone. Why else would we live in cities and constantly divide ourselves into groups? Loners are the exception, not the rule.

    Utterly fascinating and equally scary.

Equally fascinating and horrible. But what I don't understand is why so many students didn't realize that their "experiment" mimicked the nazi movement so closely? Isn't the whole point of studying history so that we know which of our mistakes to avoid in the future? I'd like to think that if I were in that class, I would have seen the obvious parallels and not accepted any of Mr. Jones' brainwashing. Then again, maybe that is what the students thought. Maybe they never saw it coming. It's all pretty interesting, and definitely terrifying. I sure hope somebody learned something from this experiment.
