violingirl77 discovered 2 months ago- From the page: "If Barbie were life-size she would be 7 feet tall. Her measurements would be 38.5 - 26 - 35. She couldn't possibly be alive if she were any shorter..."

1Gypsyrose rated 4 weeks ago- whew! only 20 pounds overweight.

Scientia rated 6 weeks ago- Barbie. Did you think she was entirely innocent? Look again.

Aquiles rated 7 weeks ago- Barbie my have been nice toy but now she is a monstrosity when taken as model for real women. And media appear to have adopted this ideal of beauty resulting into silicone filled anorexic models which, at least in my opinion are not attractive at all. In a large city you can see probably a hundred girls which are prettier than any Barbie-like model in just one hour. Small towns may take a little longer but they can be found there too.

EllieBlue rated 7 weeks ago- How did Barbie Influence you? H ere some some relative measurements of Barbie, models, and real women are quoted. Barbie, as one would expect since she is a doll, has exaggerated proportions. Dolls are caricatures of reality. How on earth do you explain the popularity of Cabbage Patch dolls or Brats? Suberb marketing techniques help. Don't blame Barbie for a child who has failed to develop healthy self esteem. A child who has strong self esteem, sees Barbie as odd, rather than themselves. So what did you do with Barbie? The first thing I did was give Barbie a haircut and then she rather lost her appeal. My daughters took the sadistic approach and if I didn't find Barbie doing impossible gymnastics, then Barbie's body had been completely disassembled never to go back together again. Our dog, then only a puppy, enjoyed chewing on bits of Barbie Unless you seek revenge on a parent, don't give a child a Barbie doll. Barbie's shoes hide under rugs and down the back of couches during the day. Like her coat hangers they multiply exponentially and come out at night so you can tread on them in bare feet. And will you never find all of them again. All those little tiny clothes have little tiny bits of velcro that stick to everything as well. One step worse than Barbie, and one I refused to buy, was a baby doll that drinks and wets - no way. That's realism for you. Give me Barbie any day. Barbie has grown up to have real careers.

- weird.. according to this site i have the ideal model measurements for my height

Barty1989 rated 9 weeks ago- I would really like to see the invention of the 'office worker' barbie. That barbie nibbles all day long and weighs at least 140lbs, or more. Chance would be a fine thing!

"If Barbie were life-size she would be 7 feet tall. Her measurements would be 38.5 - 26 - 35. She couldn't possibly be alive if she were any shorter...even at 7 feet her wrist would only be a little more than 5" around, the circumference of her upper thighs would only be 21", and her neck only 9" around. This is the doll that most american girls are given to play with, admire, and role-play with as children, a doll that plays a fundamental role in our understanding and expectations of women."
Fundamental, schmundamental. Most Yankifemales are grossly overweight, so go figure.
Boycott the Barb and toss out the junkfood, fuckwittettes.

callanmakesmusic rated 9 weeks ago- setting unrealistic expectations for women for fifty years and counting!

tree-lights rated 2 months ago- While I don't think a child understand just how warped Barbie would be if she were "real," I do think kids get the impression of how they are supposed to be through their toys. Barbie promotes thin, and so kids think thin is good. Which it is, but it's not the only way. How many fat Barbies do you see? None. That is how it influences you. You are influenced not only by what you see, but also by what you DO NOT see. You may not end up thinking that the measurements of Barbie are something to aspire to, but you probably come pretty close.
