A cool and easy experiment you can try yourself, and in addition its a useful trick to help you see if your glasses have been lost or broken.

Neat! An interesting way to "make" new glasses if you've lost yours.

How to make emergency glasses to use the next time you are stranded on a deserted island and have lost your glasses. This really works--I tried it. Well, without the stranded on a deserted island part. I just took my contacts off and looked across the room through a Post-It with a hole poked in it. I could totally read the phone number for the Time-Life infomercial on the bottom of the TV screen! Simple everyday science blows my mind on pretty much a continuous basis, I have to say.
