Garth-Alex rated 16 months ago- From the page: "Midway thru tonight's episode ("Family Ties") there is a little conversation between Vala's father and Cmdr Carter, that seems to hint to a little disgruntlement at the Sci-Fi channel that might explain why recent episodes have been standard fare rather than the culmination of such a long-in-the-tooth series.
Jasec: I don't mind telling you I'm a bit disappointed in this facility. I was expecting more.
Carter: Well, at times, so do we. But the truth is the Stargate program just doesn't get the support it used to from the people in charge.
Jasec: Why not?
Dr Lee: Eureaka, [¦ mumbo jumbo ¦]
Jasec: Uh, that's too bad, because, after all your Stargate program has accomplished for this network of planets, I'd think the decision makers would show it the respect it deserves. (emphasis mine)
I'm guessing that Sci-Fi wants to protect the return its been getting on its investment as the show winds down, especially as it closes; the cast and crew probably feel that they've earned the right to burn some of the fat for the fans and were frustrated to have their plans for big inter-galactic battles with solar systems exploring and cool weapons and fx turned down."
