    I personally give Iran credit for not censoring articles criticizing their regime. I agree that what is censored is ridiculous, but whats more important for people to read and see?

    What interested me the most about this page on Iran's censorship of western magazines is that it is done piece-meal; one magazine copy at a time. We apply this kind of censorship as well: Blockbuster movie rentals come to mind- haven't you heard a bleep when someone says fuck? Or seen badly chopped films of sexual nature? But normally, our censorship comes from the source. Let's stick with film: All films that are cleared for viewing have had to traverse through the censorship board. It is this small group of individuals who decide whether Rambo 10 should be R or G rated. And personally, what offends me is that this board thinks that it is okay for children to see people getting killed, but it is not okay for them to see homosexuals kissing. When it comes down to it, doesn't that seem as silly as leafing through a magazine and seeing pictures of women's arms, torsos and legs blackened up?

    This page really rubs me up the wrong way!......rant... I want to hate religion for forcing a pointless blind faith(or hope) in tall tales like miracle healing & the after life (what about the prior life, I missed that!!!), creation of hate/division & war, suppression of logical questioning and the chastising of free-thought. But to do that is as stupid as this censorship (the covered knee is my favourite) because despite its absolutely clear destruction of the human race today, religion came about through natural selection, it was once a huge advantage; not to question, not to enquire about the meaning of your little life, not to think, not to dream or desire more from the world, religion was the very greatest genetic advancement of the human animal, keeping it rigid and providing a way of increasing survival, a route to KILLING your tribal enemy with more justification and less guilt. No questioning + belief that other tribe are heathen infidels = more efficient killing + greater survival of your genes = more baby zealots.........So I look at religion (& racism) like the human appendix, once a useful tool to ancient man but now a dangerous hindrance that comes in every 1 of us. If only removing religion were as easy as having your appendix out!..........Jerry's final thought: if right-wing Muslims are more dangerous + hateful than right-wing Christians its down to money not scripture....take care of yourself, and each other /end of rant.. why did i bother writing all of that, what sort of stumbler wants to read this crap??
