- Mr. Hoffine's images bring one's old childhood fears back to life with carefully-planned, cringe-worthy nightmare fuel. [Nitpicky stuff: The site demands Javascript, Flash 7, and a screen resolution of at least 1024x768 -- and it will open a new browser window once you click past the splash page.]

- Joshua Hoffine's photographs wonderfully plays on the savagery of thoughts that so frighten us as kids. In so many of Hoffine's works you are quickly ripped back into that state of fear and unease that anxiously overwhelmed our every night, the worry, and nervousness that so creeped you out not know just from what dark mysterious place that next fantastic monster was going jump out at you.
