interesting treatment. I liked it. To beckybunky below: that's the most roundabout way of saying "Photoshopped! I can tell by ..." that I've seen so far. The pictures make a very poignant comment. Art doesn't have to be real to work on our emotions.

i've got to say, this is a very impressive photo manipulation, very moving. Never have i felt so connected to history as through these pictures, which seem to connect the past with the present. very perfectly executed, thanks for all your effort :)

I'm going to reserve my thumb on these photos b/c I'm not entirely sure that these pictures are the real deal. the page says "The Siege of Leningrad, also known as The Leningrad Blockade was a prolonged military operation by the Axis powers to capture Leningrad during World War II. The siege lasted 872 days from 9 September 1941, to 27 January 1944. The Siege of Leningrad was one of the longest and most destructive sieges of major cities in modern history. The pictures that you are going to see are modern pictures superimposed on the pictures from back then, but the places and angle of view are exactly the same." While the artist may have obtained old photos of Leningrad and superimposed them over new ones like he said, it would be relatively easy to fake it with any pictures from that era. Time consuming, yes, but not terribly difficult for anyone who really knows their way around Photoshop. I can already think of several ways I could accomplish the same thing with photos from my hometown (and no WWII battles happened in Kentucky, I assure you.)

This is very cool. It's almost like seeing the past and present existing at the same time.
