zvii rated 3 months ago- I have worked with iscsi-target maybe a year or 2 ago. I created file on the system that i shared as iscsi volume and it worked fine. word of caution for those who want to play with the system - iscsi is not a shared storage, nor is it nas. iscsi is san so if you map it from two different windows machines other than advanced servers capable of clustering (or two different linux boxes that do not use clustering filesystem), the second machine to connect will almost certainly corrupt your virtual storage. if you want to use shared folder functionality you are better off with one of those cheap network attached storages
