reggiemental discovered 21 months ago- A few days ago, Time Magazine announced the winner of its annual "Person of the Year" award. Many supporters of the Bolivarian Revolution will be disappointed to hear that Hugo Chavez did not make it despite the fact that he won Time's online poll by a wide margin and got 35% of the votes. This is significant, as Chavez had been the number 1 in the poll for several weeks and was clearly set to win. Instead, it seems, we've all won the award.

- Ever since I heard that Time magazine made all of us people its "person of the year," I thought the move (as well as the magazine putting a mirror on its cover) was stupid. I hadn't known why the magazine wimped out but now, after reading that there was someone who stood out ahead of the rest in Time's online poll, I suspect there was, to use words from Shakespeare's Hamlet, "something rotten in the state of Denmark." Possibly a PR move since Chavez irks people in the US??? from the page: "Hugo Chavez did not make it despite the fact that he won Time's online poll by a wide margin and got 35% of the votes.
