mokkikunta discovered 3 months ago- From the page: "We're accustomed to seeing the exact same size and shape UPC barcodes on retail packaging, but who knew that these parameters could be played with yet still serve their intended function?"

designermlu rated 8 weeks ago- I'd love to see those in the supermarket

- Nice to see that people are doing creative things with barcodes now. Will this finally spell the end of the 'barcode=mark of the beast' thing? Nice stumble Mokkikunta

Gatochy rated 2 months ago- "Somebody in Japan finally figured out that as long as optical character readers (OCRs) can recognize the encoded information, nothing else really matters. The next step was to work hand-in-hand with manufacturers to liven up their barcodes and by doing so, create an innovative new way to attract consumers' attention. "

zenspider rated 2 months ago- Function & Form... woot.

exploded-clocks rated 2 months ago- These are great! When can we start seeing these here?

reneeholiday rated 3 months ago- leave it to the japanese to make something cool and/or CUTE (kawaii?) out of something so utilitarian! i always loved the optical play of a barcode... but this is just COOL!

philsnow rated 3 months ago- In Japan nowadays, artistic barcodes grace everything from soup to nuts. The theme typically matches the actual product inside but just as often it doesn't. No matter, the theme is secondary to the thoughts of the artists who, though limited by the need to retain the barcode's original purpose, still have enough leeway to surprise and delight.

justmoon rated 3 months ago- Turning barcodes into art. What a cool and practical idea to liven up otherwise boring packaging.
