If you've got a bittorrent program that you like, you can pick up a copy to watch here - it's a fine quality rip, but this movie merits owning. Don't take my word for it, go watch it. I discovered this flick thanks to a loquatious tech representative for at&t's BlackBerry department. The guy wouldn't shut up about this flick, and when I told him I'd just recently seen The Departed and it sounded similar in that the setting was Boston and it was violent. He said that there was no comparison whatsoever, Boondock Saints blows away The Departed. He was right, and though the customer I was trying to help when I called him suffered for the time we spent bullshitting about movies, I discovered this gem thanks to that random tech support guy. *tip of the topper to him* - Dan.

A guy, Troy Duffy, tries to make money from playing with his band. To put it mildly; It wasn't Russian caviar he had for breakfast..
So he's making his living as a bartender. One day he's got a brilliant idea; I'm gonna make a movie! Said and done. He wrote a script and went up to Miramax.
Wonder over all wonders! They liked the script. They even planned Robert De Niro as one of the stars.
Wouldn't think so, Duffy said. I know two great Irish guys who would be perfect for the leading parts. And I want my best friend from the band, Rocco, to play the third leading role. That's why I call him Rocco in the script. Doh..! And I want Willem Dafoe to be the FBI agent. And, I want to direct it myself and my band shall do the soundtrack...
Another wonder over even more wonders; He got what he wanted (almost, his band only got two tracks in the movie).
The shooting of the film begins. Duffy is a pain in the ass to everybody. The actors hated him, his friends hated him more, and Miramax hated him the most. As a revenge they follow the contract and released the movie to the theaters. Two theaters. In small towns. Then they shut it down.
A small distribution company managed to get the movie and released it on VCR. And it became a megahit. Boondock Saints is now declared a cultmovie.
So, what's it about? The film raises the question; Is it ok to kill all the murdering low life's out there in the name of the good? The film doesn't give any answer. It's up to you...
It's a *very* violent film and you'll laugh your teeth out... :-)
Read all about it at IMDB.
The Boondock Saints tagline: Brothers. Killers. Saints.
My own tagline: Too many bodies isn't enough...
I love the movie! I love the movie! I love... well, you get it...
My favorite Boondock Saints quote:
- What a fucking idiot!
- Fucking.. what the fucking... fuck, who the fuck fucked this fucking.... How did you two fucking fucks.... FUCK!
- Well, that certainly illustrates the diversity of the word.

Kaitlin rated 39 months ago- I first heard about The Boondock Saints because someone turned me on to the first piece of music on the soundtrack, "The Blood of Cu Chulainn." I wasn't sure what to expect. What I got was a very bloody drama starring too very smokin' hot guys with Irish accents (real or fake? I do not know) and a flamboyantly gay yet dark Willem Dafoe. Highly recommended if you don't mind blood, copious use of the word "fuck," religous overtones, or gay Willem.
