    When what you want is simple-interface, powerful-control icon editing, IcoFX - The Free Icon Editor should be enough for most users. Since it's free, there's nothing to stop you from trying it and deciding for yourself.

    I've been looking for a free icon editor for a while now, my search ends here! (I used to use a free web based icon converter)

    Looks nice; I've never used it, although I used to use IconArt from ConWare (newer version seemed to cause problems on XP if I remember correctly), but this looks like a good program and a small application to transport...think I might try it & return later to comment/review ;)

    I wasn't going to thumb this up because it didn't look like anything special, but then i remembered how hard i had to look a while ago for a good free icon maker.

    This is a good program. It will run from a flash drive too.
