und1sk0 rated 15 months ago
Stupid people are religious, smart people are not. That's why the religious get all uppity about atheists: jealousy.

The whole thing is drivel because it relies solely on correlation, which doesn't guarantee cause and effect. Never mind silly things like a nation's wealth, resources, average standard of living, educational system, etc. This is another "LOLZ XTIANS R DUM!!1" article. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Correlation_does_not_imply_causation

Research that shows that countries with higher religious belief also tend to have lower IQs.

Correlation proves nothing and does not demonstrate cause and effect. The culture of the country is the variable to look at, Not IQ

Again, the perils of a .com rather than a .edu or .org is that .coms are answerable only to their owner, and more often than not offer no references, such as here.

previous review said IQ is based on maths and literature. you obviously never took an IQ test, they are based on logic problems not maths or literature.

The things said on this website are quite obvious: religiosity is inversely proportional to IQ . Most of the so-called intelligent people would agree and most of the religious people wouldn't agree. USA score high on both, but how many people are well educated in America, apart from those with Ph.D who come from other countries to get a job that in their home countries they wouldn't be able to find? Besides, I've had a look at the method of assessment. The method assesses how far students near the end of compulsory education have acquired some of the knowledge and skills that are essential for full participation in society. In all cycles, the domains of reading, mathematical and scientific literacy are covered not merely in terms of mastery of the school curriculum, but in terms of important knowledge and skills needed in adult life. It has 4 sections: mathematics literacy, problem solving, reading literacy, scientific literacy. Pencil-and-paper tests are used, with assessments lasting a total of two hours for each student. Test items are a mixture of multiple-choice items and questions requiring students to construct their own responses. The items are organised in groups based on a passage setting out a real-life situation. A total of about seven hours of test items is covered, with different students taking different combinations of test items. Students answer a background questionnaire, which takes 20-30 minutes to complete, providing information about themselves and their homes. School principals are given a 20-minute questionnaire about their schools. May the result be only an IQ on this basis? What about those kids of the same age who never went to school or never got to the end of it?

Ho...i get it...religious people are stupid...cmmon man...thats BULLSHIT! the more religious u r, the more u study religion instead of math, literature, western history etc. which the IQ is based on. there r better ways to address religion flaws.

This graph lies. These countries don't have low mean IQs because they're religious, they have low mean IQs because they're underdeveloped countries with primitive education systems.
