A great idea that some people use incorrectly; when used right, Twitter can be a profoundly useful social connector. Unfortunately, when it is used for mundane updates on banal daily goings-on, it becomes a vehicle for limitless idiocy. However, that being said, it can be a great way to communicate to a large number of people: your ideas, your humorous musings, your plans, your questions, your cultural observances. There are a myriad of ways to use Twitter, and it's unfortunate that it gets so much bad publicity because of the tweets of a few.

This is really nothing more than using a plan file back in the text days of things. (Finger me baby, o la la). The only difference is, back then the infrastructure supported plan files, where as Twitter and Yammer can't deliver due to all the technical difficulties they have.

Twitter is a type of microblog, a way of communicating with family, friends, colleagues, and other Twitterers in short posts that are allowed to be a maximum length of 140 characters. Twitter does have its little service glitches at times, usually because too many people are trying to use it at the same time! However, their service problems aren't really all that frequent or long lasting. The service is free; and it's fun and easy to use.
